Ever notice how when someone comes up with a new
joke, it's only a matter of days until it has spread from
coast to coast? The same is true for a juicy bit of gossip.
How does that happen? It's people. Conversation. You
and I talking to each other. It's human nature -- something
moves us, makes us laugh, and we want to want to spread
the feeling. It's called the power of Word of Mouth.
When a thing has value for us, we want to share it. This
sharing is our vision of the Internet--a community where
everyone has something of value to offer. This is a place
where each neighbor contributes his or her very best in
exchange for receiving something of value. Your contribution
can occur in 2 ways: first, by telling others about any website
that you believe is valuable (informative, amusing, whatever);
second, by telling the site content providers and advertisers
that you found them on the Internet. It is only through this
sharing with others that traffic builds and the Net becomes
stronger. It is only through feedback that content providers
and advertisers will know that their advertising/promotion
on the Internet worked.
